I AM CROSSFIT
The face of pain, gasping for air and wanting to quit. But guess what? I don't!! I continue to push through the pain and feel like a champ when I'm done. This is why I AM CROSSFIT! This pic was taken when we first moved into the new gym. I am at the peak of my fitness and am only moving up. Crossfit has changed my life and continues to shape it to this day. I've been crossfiting since September 2005 and have seen my body change, my mind get stronger and have helped change and shape the lives of many people along the way. When I first began my journey I was 205 pounds, slow and hadn't really worked out in two or three years. Jeremy, my little big brother, said he had something new for me to try. So, with my fat plump body I began my journey. In three months I dropped fifteen pounds and was on my way to California to get my first cert. and the rest is history.
I can only encourage you to work hard, push through the pain and consider what that fast processed food is doing to your body. Make the choice NOW to change your life!! All of us coaches are here for you, to push you, encourage you and be that person that can relate to and know how you feel. FYI, I'm going to post a nice pic of myself from my good round days so stay tuned. I AM CROSSFIT!!

Fran Time!!
These ladies don't care if it's a wee bit chilly out. Janine and Jen attack "Fran" in the 6:15AM T/Th crossfit class like she took their lunch money. All the awesome people that come too crossfit in the mornings don't care how cold it is, they just want their butt's kicked. And I'm more than happy to oblige them. Speaking of attacking "Fran", watch Carey and Crystal go to town on this illustrious WOD on the crossfit affiliate page. Way to go girls!!

Swingers!!
The ladies at 6:30PM LCRA get their swing on! They brave the cool night air three nights a week to spend some quality time with me and the trusty dumb bell and med ball. The dumb bell swing is a move that gets the whole body involved and works the core like you like it to be done. The swing is performed the same way as the kettle bell swing, so not having a kettle bell is no excuse to not performing the move.

What I Support
I know this has nothing to do with crossfit. I also know that a lot of people don't care about my political views. But in the misted of everything that is going on right now and all the frenzy going on about the new President elect, I had to post this. This is the man I supported during the primaries and I still support him today along with his movement Campaign For Liberty. I hope you will watch this and read the quotes and listen to Ron Pauls words and consider the times we live in and what it truly means to be free. To consider the true role of our government the way our founders intended and ponder, are we truly free from government? Is it the government's role to take care of us? Just something to think about.

Time To Get Lean With Lean Turkey
That time of the year has come when we have party's to go to and lots of good food is around. Well Crossfit Central has come up with a way to combat that, with the Lean Turkey. What is it? Well, we have selected a group of current clients to compete on November 22 against the other coaches and there team for some wonderful prizes. We as coaches will encourage our teams to eat right workout hard and conduct some special workouts together to repair for the BIG competition. This is a way to encourage everyone to stay disciplined and have a goal to work towards during this crazy and hectic time, and hopefully look like Big Mike over to the left. Oh yea I can't wait!!

Boot Camp!!
Ya know , I've been thinking about why I love coaching boot camps for a while. It's not hard for me to know why, I just haven't written it down for others to see and read. Boot camps have helped me grow in so many way's. It is quite astounding. I remember the first time I went to a Crossfit Central boot camp to help Jeremy. I had no idea what to expect or what to do. I followed Jeremy around for about two months, learning the warm up, coaching cues and things like that. I probably wasn't ready to coach my own, but Jeremy insisted we needed an evening boot camp and I needed to start it.
So I met a young man by the name of Vic at Deep Eddie park and I started to put him through boot camp, just me and him. If it wasn't for UTB's he wouldn't have come. This was a little over two years ago. So, fast forward to now, I coach three boot camps four days a week with thirty people all over Austin, Tx. LCRA boot camp, Bridge Point boot camp and LCRA Corp. boot camp. But the whole point of me writing this is to share with you why I love coaching you guys.
For starters, I get to meet new people and have a positive influence in there lives. It's crazy to me that people look up to me and seek my guidance and opinion. And it's not just about coaching, but life and friendships. For any of you that have spent time away from crossfit with me and have gotten to know me must know that I am a political junky and readily share my opinions, and I do. I love to get to know everyone outside of just training and talking politics or sports. It is fun and it's all light hearted. I have developed a relationship with all of my boot campers and regularly talk with all of them ether on the phone or through email. I also know may of the boot campers have made friends with each other and regularly hang out out side of boot camp. And some of us have been known to go out and take advantage of some of the good watering holes around Austin. So aside from all the positives everyone gets from the boot camps, we develop friendships and learn how to push each other and encourage one another.
So, there are some of the reasons I enjoy coaching boot camps so much. I get to meet wonderful and inspiring people and get to see them change there lives and be apart of it. I hope for some of you sitting on the fence trying to decide if you should come to a boot camp take what I've said here and consider all the positive I just mentioned. It could very easily change your life and meeting you will most likely play a role in mine.

KettleBell Cert. was a Success
In all seriousness it was a success. The Crossfit Central crew had a great time and learned much from the great Jeff Martone and his sweet wife Moe. Other than the raw hands the certification was intense, informative and challenging. I suggest you ether take advantage of the Kettle Bell classes Crossfit Central offers or you can contact me via email at zacharythiel@crossfitcentral.com for a more personal approach.

The Good Ol' KB
If you didn't know we are having a kettlebell certification at Crossfit Central this weekend and I must say I am very excited. Kettlebells seem to kick my ass when I pick them up and two days of non stop training with them is going to be fun, fun!! These odd shaped iron balls with a handle offer core strength, strong grip and have a long storied history. All of these things are appealing to me so you can understand my interest. So, with this new cert. I am receiving I will officially be a certifiable ass kicker with the good ol' kettlebell. Better get ready!!

You Can do Anything You Want!
When Ashley first started Crossfitting she could not do a single pull up. One year later she is doing six in a row for several rounds of work. She has not only gotten stronger but has gained more confidence and pushes herself harder than ever. Oh, she is also my wife. I couldn't be more proud of her!

What An Experience!
I have to say, competing in my first CrossFit Games was absolutely amazing. Seeing the athletes, the big names of Crossfit and the competition is one of the better experiences in my life. It also taught me that I have a lot of work to do if I want to be considered a top elite crossfiter. It has given me a new perspective of the work and commitment that I have to put in to take it to the next level. I could ask for a better group of people to travel with and spend time with that the people in the CrossFit Central team. And congratulations to my brother Jeremy Thiel for his third place finish, truly inspiring!!

Prepping For The Games
It has been an extreme three month proses prepping for the Crossfit Games coming up this weekend. I have to say working out six days a week, following the zone diet and staying the most discipline I have ever been has paid of. I am stronger and leaner than I have ever been in my in tire life and I owe it to Crossfit. It has provided me with the desire to want to improve, eat healthier and work harder and endure more pain than I ever thought I could. I will forever be thankful to Coach Glassmen for what he has provided all Crossfiters and my brother Jeremy for introducing me to Crossfit. I can't even imagine the energy and anxiety I will be filling before the first challenge begins, but I know that I will be prepared for battle because of the intense training and structure Crossfit has provided me. I will forever be grateful.
