Ahhhhhh Hydration

Did you know that our bodies are about 60% water? Do you drink enough water during the day? Studies say that you should drink 2-4 liters a day depending on your size. That is half to a whole gallon of water a day!

Here are some facts on what drinking more water can do for your health:
  • Prevents overheating and cramping during wod's
  • Curbs hunger- many times hunger pains are caused by dehydration
  • Increases energy
  • Reduces joint pain
  • Aids in flushing toxins out of your body
  • Prevents constipation and helps in digestion
  • Reduces your risks of headaches, gall stones, some types of cancer and many other things!
Buy a water bottle or refill your water glass from a gallon jug to keep track of how much water you drink. You may be surprised at the results. Another good resource for when you just want something different is coconut water! Mmmmmm one of my faves! Coconut water is an isotonic drink, which means it naturally contains the electrolytes your body needs to hydrate itself. With the summer heat around the corner this is going to be essential for all of us at CrossFit Central!
